Request for Proposals

On Call Architectural Services

The Burke County Board of Commissioners is requesting Statements of Qualifications from interested and qualified consultants for Professional On-Call Architectural Services for various projects with estimated costs not to exceed $1,000,000. The contract will be a five-year contract, with the possibility of three (3) one-year extensions. Professional, technical and advisory servicesareneededfor a variety of not-yet-determined and unforeseenconstructionandrenovationrelatedprojects.


Projects may include new construction, building and infrastructure renovations, planning and environmental services and landscape design. Professional services needed may include program review, cost estimating, schematic design, design development, public meetings/hearings, construction documents, bidding, construction administration and project closeout. No guarantee is made as to the quantity of work to be awarded related to the on-call services contract.


To facilitate review, submissions shall be fewer than twenty five (25) 8 ½ x 11 pages (can be front and back) and shall conform to the following format:

                A letter of introduction, signed by an officer or principal of the firm withcontracting authority. Include an email address. This address will be used for all communication related to shortlist, interviews, andselection.

Experience of the Firm: Provide a description of your firm’s prior experience and qualifications in architectural, engineering, planning and environmentalanalysis.

Project Team (Key Staff): Identify the proposed Project Manager and key project team members and responsibilities. Provide a brief resume for each person outlining their credentials andexperience.

References: Provide the name and contact information for at least three (3) referencesfamiliarwiththequalityofworkby.

Current Projects: List projects currently under contract.

Location and Availability to the County: Provide firm’s location and a statement of average response time when a meeting is requested.

Insurance: Provide proof of current professional liability insurance coverage ($1,000,000 minimumrequired).

Licensure: Provide proof of licensure. All firms shall be licensed in the State of Georgia.

The County welcomes proposals from firms with a diverse workforce, including women and minority-owned firms. 

Selection will occur based on screening and evaluation of written proposals. The most qualified respondentswillbeinvitedforinterviewsfromwhichaminimumofthreefirmswillbeselected.


Written responses will be considered if received by 5:00 p.m. on March 10, 2020. All respondents will be notified of the results by email. After review of the qualifications, a selection may be made by the evaluation team or an interview process may be proposed.

Courthouse Renovation Project Phase II


Notice is hereby given that the Burke County Board of Commissioners will let a contract to the lowest responsible, qualified, bidder by sealed bids submitted to the Burke County Board of Commissioners, P.O. Box 89, 602 N. Liberty Street, Waynesboro, Georgia 30830, no later than 5:00 p.m., Tuesday March 10th, 2020, for the Phase II Interior Renovations of the First Floor of the 1940 Courthouse. Interested companies are asked to attend a Pre-bid meeting on Tuesday February 18th at 10:00 a.m. at the site.


Bids  will  be  opened  during  the  Commissioners’  meeting  at  6:00  p.m.  that  same  day.   NO CONTACT can be made with the Facilities Director or any  other  Burke  County  personnel. Contacting any individuals with Burke County will immediately disqualifyany bidder.

Proof of General Liability Insurance and Workman’s Compensation Insurance will be required with The Burke County Board of Commissioners listed as an additional insured.


The Burke County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any technicalities or irregularities and to award  the  bid  based  on  the  highestand best interests of Burke County.
