Quaker Road Bridge Is Open!

WAYNESBORO – The Georgia Department of
Transportation announces the opening of the Quaker Road bridge in Burke County as of 5 p.m. today. The bridge officially closed for construction March 16, 2020 and has returned to enhanced service.
This bridge replacement is part of the Fiscal Year 2017 (FY17) Georgia DOT Design-Build Bridge Replacement Program. The program utilizes bundles to maximize efficiency and speed in the replacement of locally-owned infrastructure.
The Design-Build team for this project was United Infrastructure Group/Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering. Quaker Road Bridge was the final bridge in the first batch of seven FY17 bridge projects.
