  • Notice to the Public - Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Goal for Burke County Airport

    Burke County, on behalf of Burke County Airport, hereby publishes a proposed triennial overall goal for its Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program for federal fiscal years (FFY) 2018-2020. The proposed goal is 7.37% for all FAA-AIP funded projects in FFY 2018-2020. The methodology used in developing the goal is available for inspection during normal business hours at the administrative office of the County Administrator, 602 Liberty Street, Waynesboro, GA 30830. The County will receive and consider public comments on the proposed goal until May 5, 2019. Comments may be submitted to the County at the above address.   • Hwy 56 Paving Working to Finish, Mitigate Delays

    WAYNESBORO - Reeves Construction Company is pushing toward completion on the State Route (SR) 56 widening project in Burke County.

    The following activities, weather permitting, are planned in the project area. Some construction scenarios and locations may cause the contractor to creep past the end time mentioned below in regards to being totally out of the road.

    Monday, March 18 traffic will shift from the current outside lanes in both directions to the inside

    lanes to allow more asphalt topping finalization.

    Thursday, March 21 crews will work on the River Road tie-in area from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

    Friday, March 22 teams move to complete side road sections on Collins Road and SR 23 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
