Animal Control Advisory Committee to Meet Next Week

A nine-member committee has been named to help guide the county’s effort to begin offering animal control services.

As Burke County Commissioners move forward, they’ll call on this advisory committee for ideas, suggestions and feedback on the best way to handle the county’s stray dog and cat problems.

The Committee will meet on Tuesday August 25th at 6:00 PM at the Burke County Library located at 130 Hwy 24 South in Waynesboro. 



Members of the Burke county Commissioner’s animal control advisory committee include:

Chairman Bill Tinley, veteran Waynesboro City Councilman Dr. Sarah Ford, veterinarian JonesScrap” Gresham, retiree, taxpayer representative Kelly Jenkins, Assistant District Attorney, Middle Judicial Circuit Carol Jones, community volunteer Larry Lewis, Chief Deputy of Burke County Sheriff’s Office Stephen Murray, Burke County Health Department Monika Mobley, teacher and animal rescue volunteer Jesse Stone, attorney and State Senator
