Elections and Registration


Burke County Board of Elections and Registration is responsible for maintaining all voter registration files, updating any and all information relating to voter registration into the State computer system, as well as, maintaining hard copy files.

Executing  efficient, secure, and convenient elections for the voting public; hire, train and maintain poll workers records; test and maintain all election equipment; acquire and maintain polling locations, qualify candidates.  County’s website connects to the Secretary of State website for public knowledge of elections and Registration.

Notice is hereby given that the LOGIC AND ACCURACY TESTING on the voting equipment to be used during the Absentee In-person voting, Election Day voting and Absentee By-mail tabulation for the November 08, 2022, CITY OF WAYNESBORO SPECIAL ELECTION in BURKE COUNTY, Georgia, shall begin at 9:30 AM, September 26, 2022. Preparation shall continue from day to day until such preparation is complete and shall be open to the public. Testing of voting machines used on Election Day and testing on the central scanning machine used in counting absentee ballots will be conducted.


The testing will take place at the Burke County Courthouse in the Office of the Burke County Board of Elections and Registration, 602 N. Liberty St., Waynesboro, Ga. 30830.
