Elections and Registration


Burke County Board of Elections and Registration is responsible for maintaining all voter registration files, updating any and all information relating to voter registration into the State computer system, as well as, maintaining hard copy files.

Executing  efficient, secure, and convenient elections for the voting public; hire, train and maintain poll workers records; test and maintain all election equipment; acquire and maintain polling locations, qualify candidates.  County’s website connects to the Secretary of State website for public knowledge of elections and Registration.

September 12, 2023, at 9:30am in the Board of Elections and Registration office located at 602
N. Liberty St, Waynesboro, GA 30830.

NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION FOR THE CITY OF WAYNESBORO (only)

TO FILL THE OFFICE OF MAYOR AND THREE CITY COUNCIL SEATS

TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF WAYNESBORO, GEORGIA

Notice is hereby given; a Municipal General Election for The City of Waynesboro will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

Advance Voting will be conducted October 16, 2023, through November 3, 2023, Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Saturday voting will be conducted October 21st and October 28th from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Advance Voting will only be conducted at the Burke County Courthouse located at 602 N. Liberty Street, Waynesboro GA 30830.

On Election Day, November 7, 2023, voters must go to their assigned precinct, The Burke County Office Park located at 715 W. 6th Street, Waynesboro, GA 30830. The polls shall be open 7:00am to 7:00pm.

Absentee applications will be accepted August 21, 2023, through October 27, 2023. An application must be submitted to receive a ballot by mail. Absentee ballots will be mailed out October 16, 2023, through October 27, 2023.

The deadline for voter registration or to change/update your address to be eligible to vote in the November 7, 2023, Municipal General Election for The City of Waynesboro is October 10, 2023. One must also reside within the city limits of Waynesboro to be eligible to vote in this election.

 The computation and canvassing of the election returns will take place at The Burke County Board of Elections Office located at 602 N. Liberty St., Waynesboro, GA 30830, following the closing of the polls on election day.
