IN THE STATE COURT OF BURKE COUNTY
STATE OF GEORGIA

In consideration of Burke County’s current status as a hotspot for COVID-19 and substantial community spread, resulting in a shortage of hospital beds, the State Court of Burke County hereby orders that the State Court Jury Calendar Call docket for August 3, 2020 is hereby moved to August 31, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., the State Court Arraignment date for August 5, 2020 is hereby moved to September 2, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. and the State Court Arraignment date of August 6, 2020 is hereby moved to September 3, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., subject to the health conditions in Burke County at that time, all appearances will be in the Burke County Judicial Center.  All civil matters are also to be rescheduled for a later date.

The State Court of Burke County Georgia is located at 200 East 6th Street, Waynesboro, Georgia 30830 in the Burke County Judicial Center.

State Courts have countywide jurisdiction over misdemeanors, traffic cases and any civil actions where the Superior Court does not have exclusive jurisdiction. They can hear applications for search and arrest warrants and can hold preliminary hearings.
